Artist's Description
When I think of being a woman, I think of the many circles and cycles of my life. One obvious cycle is age; childhood, teenage years, adult and old age. I am in the latter category at the moment and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I am also not sure I'm looking forward to the final part of the circle-the 2nd childhood stage, where my needs must all be met by a caretaker. Add to that, the joys and stresses of being single for 20 years and then married for 46. It is quite a circle of ups and downs, give and take.
The life of a woman is ruled by cycles of hormonal changes that dictate physical and psychological aspects.
Many can relate to the cycle of happiness, euphoria, sadness, anger and depression that can all occur in a single month. A month also ruled by the circle and cycles of the moon, by the way.

My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott. I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature. Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years.
