This piece looks so textural, like you went out to find the softest mohair, alpaca, angora and silk yarns, in boucle, eyelash, brushed or pompom styles, and used them all on one loom, to make a piece that took 3 months! At least that is how long it would take me to make it!
The strong color gives this a Southwestern feel, but it could be used anywhere, by anyone who loves color and texture! This one hangs in my contemporary/Victorian home, done in the metal print. I love that it was first a photo, then a painting, then a photo, then many photos, looks like yarn and is a slick metal piece that is a print! Kind of blows your mind!
I enjoy the process of crossing the boundaries from one discipline to another.
These are digitally altered/enhanced photos (this is a photo of one of my paintings) that have the look of counted cross stitch. embroidery or woven textiles. The "texture" is intentional and I feel it enhances the image and the illusion.

My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott. I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature. Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years. I consider myself a Renaissance woman with my hand in many disciplines and a love for all artistic ways and means. Because of that, my work is all over the map...in style, medium and intent.
