Sometimes I have no idea what will happen when I paint. This is one of those times. I wanted to try to just do some thing wild and free! How this happened, I'm not sure! Sometimes I know the title of a piece before I start: this title came to me after I completed the painting. I think she is me, I always have wanted to wear hats, but can't. She has the golden blond hair that I always wanted and she has the world of creation at her fingertips! In her left hand is the initial idea, spark of a thought. And in her right hand the spark has become a full fledged fire of creation.
I've never used fluorescent paint before. It just seemed appropriate here!
My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott. I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature. Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years. I consider myself a Renaissance woman with my hand in many disciplines and a love for all artistic ways and means. Because of that, my work is all over the map...in style, medium and intent.
