Interestingly, I had finished the painting, I thought, and set it in my living room to look at it. Later in the day, a sunlight sliver was thrown across the image right at her eyes and I knew instantly that I had to paint that into the work. I think you might agree with me that the serendipitous shaft of sunlight adds a lot to this image!

My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott. I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature. Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years.
