Artist's Description

I wanted to express the two sides of things, male/female, robotic/human, geometric/organic shapes, hot colors/cool colors, masks, not really masked. The faces are similar but different and possibly flow from one extreme to the other easily. Hence the title, the same but opposite. Besides, those words sounded like ancient Greek names to me, implying a relationship such as Orpheus and Eurydice or Mark Anthony and Cleopatra or even Romeo and Juliet. But as all of those lovers could never be together forever, neither it seems can this pair. Their gaze is not upon each other but where?

Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years.
