I Am was created during the height of Covid. It was my way of breaking out, fighting, becoming free, even though restrictions were still all around me. Color has always been my thing: this piece really went a step farther!
This features fabric, the floral in the background, feathers, on headdress and cloak and sea shells. The black border gives the chance to see how the feathers rise above the top edge of the painting and off the left side a bit. The border is not on the original painting, just in the photograph.

My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott. I use my initials jm-ART and/or my tattoo of a star as my signature. Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years. I consider myself a Renaissance woman with my hand in many disciplines and a love for all artistic ways and means. Because of that, my work is all over the map...in style, medium and intent.
