When I went to school in Florence, one of my favorite classes was Art History. On one of our walking art history lessons, we climbed the 463 steps past the 2 shells of the cupola of the Duomo,designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, and stepped out onto the lantern, from which you can enjoy impressive views of the city.
I had to paint that, looking out over the area of the city where I was living at the time.
What a wonderful experience I had in Italy for those 7 months! I've been back and it never is disappointing!

Although I never liked art through high school, I "discovered" it in my early 20's and have never stopped creating since. Photography is my latest love, but I've been a painter for over 50 years.
