I've started a new series of photographs set within circles. Some of these are vintage looking, pretty nature photos with a hint of art deco borders. You can look at the rest of these images as just interesting abstracts or extremely different versions of reality! Personally I see some as flowers, some as jewels, gems or cut/polished stones like agate, moonstone or tiger eye. However I also look at them as symbols of inner awakenings or perhaps inspirational pieces. Traditional circular mandalas are spiritual and ritualistic symbols in Buddhism and Hinduism that represent the Universe. I have often used an oval or circular shape to represent my versions of universal concepts and the nature of my individual experiences. Circles have always been a symbol of completeness and infinity; ovals are symbols for abundance, creativity and fertility. "I continue to believe that the circle which explains the world in its entirety is the ideal figure, and the curve, which relates to it, is more noble than the straight line." wrote Jean Puiforcat in 1933. What ever you see, I hope you find these as intriguing as I do. Thank you for visiting this gallery.
